1. About the app
FortStats is an unofficial fan-made companion app for the game Fortnite. It shows public Battle Royale player statistics, the current item shop, news, cosmetics, playlists, the current island map and profile banners. The app is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Epic Games, Inc. Fortnite and all related trademarks remain the property of their respective owners. All game data displayed in the app comes from the publicly available community API fortnite-api.com.
2. Data we collect
2.1 What we do NOT collect
The app does not require accounts and does not ask for your name, email, phone, address or any other personal information. There is no user profile and no sign-in. We operate no backend server of our own: the app talks directly to the third-party API described below.
2.2 Player-name lookups (fortnite-api.com)
When you type an Epic Games username in the Player Stats screen, that username is sent over HTTPS to the third-party service fortnite-api.com in order to fetch the corresponding public Battle Royale statistics. The username you search is not required to be your own and is not linked to your device identity by us. Item shop, news, cosmetics, playlists, map and banner data are fetched from the same service without any user input. Requests include only standard HTTP information (IP address, User-Agent). Refer to that service’s own privacy policy at fortnite-api.com for details on how they process requests.
2.3 Advertising identifier (Google AdMob)
The app displays banner and full-screen interstitial ads via the Google AdMob SDK. AdMob may access your device’s advertising identifier (AAID) to serve relevant ads and measure performance. This identifier is controlled by Google and can be reset or limited by you at any time in your Android settings (Settings → Google → Ads). Refer to Google’s policy at policies.google.com/privacy for details.
2.4 Local on-device storage
The app stores your preferences (last searched username, selected platform and stats window, cached API responses) in the device’s local storage. This data never leaves your device. Uninstalling the app deletes it.
2.5 In-app purchase token (Google Play Billing)
If you purchase the one-time product Remove ads, Google Play Billing processes the transaction. We only receive an entitlement token to validate the purchase and unlock the ad-free state locally on your device. We never see or store your payment card information — all payment data is handled exclusively by Google Play. Users who purchase Remove ads stop seeing ads and the advertising identifier is no longer used by the app.
3. What we use data for
- Fetch and display public Fortnite data (stats, shop, news, cosmetics, map);
- Display ads through Google AdMob (free users only);
- Validate Remove-ads purchases via Google Play Billing;
- Remember your last search and settings locally.
4. Who we share data with
- fortnite-api.com — receives the username you search and standard HTTP request data, in order to return public game statistics;
- Google AdMob — banner and interstitial ad serving (see Google’s policy linked above);
- Google Play Billing — in-app purchase processing.
We do not sell your data. We do not share with data brokers. We do not use any analytics SDK that profiles individual users.
5. Retention and deletion
We operate no server and keep no personal records about you, so there is nothing to delete on our side. Local data is removed by uninstalling the app.
6. Children
The app is suitable for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads are served through Google AdMob under its family-safe policies where applicable.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. The “Last updated” date above always reflects the current version. Material changes will be reflected on this page before they take effect.
